Forty students, led by members of SDS, picketed peacefully at Massachusetts Hall for one hour yesterday morning in support of the three strike demands.
The group assembled in front of the building at 8:15 a. m. and began a moving picket line in front of the door to the Corporation's offices.
L. Gard Wiggins, administrative vice-president of the University, approached Massachusetts Hall at 8:40 a. m. and moved freely across the student line. As he entered the building, demonstrators chanted. "Workers' gain is Harvard's loss. Wiggins is a racist boss."
SDS had voted Sunday night to stage an obstructive picket in front of Massachusetts Hall at 8 a. m. yesterday morning, but those who arrived at that hour voted to be non-obstructive, apparently because of their limited numbers.
Following the picketing. SDS endorsed today's demonstration at 4:30 p. m. in front of the State House in Boston to protest the recent killings in Augusta and at Jackson State.
