Strength in three relays enabled North House to break East House's five-meet victory streak with a 65-44 upset win in the 89th annual Radcliffe House Swimming Meet on March 11. South tied for second place.
Janet Nadeau sparked North's win with a first in the 40-yard butterfly and legs on both the breaststroke and freestyle relays. Andy Hedin, Anne Yelland, Sandy Wallace. Pam Wilkinson, and Leslie Grissom also helped bring North its long awaited triumph.
Records were broken by the freestyle and breaststroke relay teams and by varsity standouts Julie Anderson and Kathy Fletcher. Anderson swam the 40-breast in 26.4, while Fletcher's time in the 40-free was 20.6. Both are from East House.
