While Dean May's Curriculum Reform Committees are still busy discussing educational change, the Harvard New College Group (NCG) has released a paper containing proposals to completely revamp Harvard's educational system.

Steven R. Bowman '72, a leader of NCG, said the paper was an appeal to all interested in educational change to conceptually tear down the existing educational structures and build from scratch."

The NCG proposes doing away with present grading and testing systems, abolishing the A.B. degree, and integrating freshmen and Cliffies into all Harvard Houses.

The paper also suggests establishing an experimental college based on The Harrad Experiment by Robert Rimmer. According to this plan, a boy and girl would share a suite and study sex education and interpersonal relationships along with regular courses.

The NCG, which was formed last September as part of the Harvard New College curriculum, has met twice a week throughout the year to discuss educational reform. Members of the group have also spoken with Dean May about integrating NCG proposals in the Curriculum Reform Committee report.

A more comprehensive study by the NCG will examine the present Harvard educational system and offer further plans to implement change.
