To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
The CRIMSON is hardly to be commended for carrying an ad this morning that tells us "our waitresses are class broads." Presumably, both you and the advertiser would have the sensitivity not to tell us "our bus boys are good niggers." Referring to women as "broads" is insulting and reflects a point of view that regards women primarily as sex objects.
This sort of dehumanizing bigotry has no place in a fair-minded newspaper.'53
[The CRIMSON regrets that the advertisement was run. We have a policy against exploitative advertising, but this particular ad was not caught until it ran. It was removed after one day.
