The Cambridge police investigation into the bombing of the Center for International Affairs has apparently fizzled out.
When asked yesterday if the trail had gone cold, Capt. Thomas Burke replied, "Yeah, I would say that."
Burke referred to a statement by Sgt. James Roscoe, who had done most of the investigative work. "He [Roscoe] did say they were pretty much up against a stone wall," Burke commented.
On the first day after the bombing, Roscoe said that witnesses had identified two woman suspects. The following day, he said that only one woman suspect had been identified, and that police had her under surveillance.
On the third day, Roscoe said that police had not positively identified any suspect and added that no bombing suspect was being trailed.
