HUC Postpones Vote On New Supercouncil

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The referendum on the proposed "Supercouncil" will be postponed two weeks until the middle of February, John Hanify, president of the Harvard Undergraduate Council, said yesterday.

Hanify postponed the referendum-scheduled to be handed out in registration envelopes on February 2-after 40 persons in Dunster House signed a petition requesting the delay. The petition claimed that many undergraduates had not seen the HUC plan and did not know the specific proposals.

The HUC plan includes proposals asking undergraduates to establish a united Harvard-Radcliffe student government and tax themselves $10 each for its support.

The HUC will probably ask each House Committee and the Freshman Council to conduct the poll sometime in the middle of February.
