Committee of 5 Issues 1st Faculty Summons

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Committee of Five yesterday began summoning Corporation appointees reported to have taken part in the University Hall disruption and its aftermath.

John C. Berg, teaching fellow in government, said last night that a University policeman presented a summons to him at 9 a.m. yesterday. The summons said Berg acted to "disrupt educational operation," ejecting deans, and remaining in University Hall after being asked to leave.

The summons requested Berg to appear before the Committee May 27, and added he could bring along an academic advisor and legal counsel. Berg said those receiving summonses would probably meet to decide whether to attend the Committee hearings.

Berg said the alleged offenses mentioned in the Committee summons were similar to those listed in the Committee of 15 summons, but added that the Committee of Five "is trying to be much more informal."
