Nude Movie Makers Are Barely Sentenced

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A Harvard junior and a Radcliffe sophomore pleaded no contest yesterday to charges of lewd and lascivious behavior stemming from the filming of nude scenes for a movie.

Judge Philip J. Durkin of Salem District Court accepted the pleas from Kevin G. Rafferty '70 and the Cliffie sophomore, and continued their cases without finding until October 11. Two other defendants, Barbara J. Dunn, a student in the Ed School, and a 17-year-old cook from West Newton--had similar pleas accepted.

Hitching Through Myopia

Rafferty filmed a scene of the three girls hitchhiking nude on March 23 on the grounds of the Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton. A member of the club complained to police and they were arrested. The film is Rafferty's term project in Vis Stud 146b: "Light and Communication (Animation)."

The judge accepted the pleas because, he said, the defendants "all come from fine families and I'm sure they didn't send you to school to get into this kind of misconduct." He ordered each of them to pay $20 for court costs.
