The varsity sailing team won the first M.I.T. Open Invitational Sailing Regatta Saturday.
Competing against nine other colleges, the "A" division boat with Bob Doyle '71 as skipper and Jeffrey Storer '70 as crew, won all five of its races.
In the "B" division boat, with Abbott Reeve '71 as skipper and Boyd Travsky '70 as crew, the Crimson took three firsts, one second, and one third.
With a low total of 13 points, the Harvard sailing team easily outdistanced its nearest competitor, M.I.T. which ran up 32 points.
The Harvard polo team, playing without Genaro Pegan '69 an internationally rated polo star, defeated a hard-playing Cornell J.V. team, 13-9 Saturday.
The Crimson team dominated play in the first two periods but Cornell managed to pull within one point by the end of the third chukker.
Cornell evened the score at 8-8 in the first minute of the last period. Immediately, however, the Harvard attack began to move and knocked in five goals within a matter of minutes.
Gregory O'Laughlin '69 took scoring honors with nine goals, four coming in the last period. Hibbard Uline '69 scored three goals and Captain Tom Kaplan '69, accounted for the other.
