To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

At this time, when the question of amnesty for those involved in the occupation of University Hall is being debated on all sides, it is perhaps not out of place to remind the Harvard community of the centuries old custom of granting amnesty to political prisoners on royal occasions.

In view of this, would it not be appropriate for the Corporation and Faculty to grant amnesty to the demonstrators, not because they committed no offense, but in honor of the visit of His Majesty King Hussein of Jordan to Boston this coming Friday, April 18?
