Keen Dryden, star goalie for Cornell University, made his first appearance in the World Amateur Hockey Tournament in Stockholm, Sweden, Tuesday, leading Canada to a 1-0 shutout victory over the winless United states squad. The setback was the Americans' seventh.
Dryden, a native of Hamilton, Ont., and brother of Dave Dryden, goalie for the Chicago Black Hawks, turned aside 25 shots as the Canadians recorded their third triumph in seven games.
In they only other game, Czechoslovakia came from behind to defeat Finland and tie the Soviet Union for first place in the six-team tourney.
The U.S. shares the cellar in the standings with Finland.
