Over 80 per cent of those interviewed from a national sample in a Gallup Poll appearing yesterday favor expulsion of student demonstrators who break the law.
The poll also revealed that over seven out of ten adults opposed giving students larger roles in college administration, compared to an earlier Gallup survey when only 55 per cent were opposed. Eighty-four per cent of those polled favored the revocation of federal loans held by student demonstrators.
Bitterness toward demonstrators increases with age, the poll indicated. While only 71 per cent of the 21-29-year age group polled favored expulsion for demonstrators, 83 per cent of the 30-49 group and 85 per cent of the over-50 group favored such action.
