HPC Asks One-Grade Minimum for Seniors

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Seniors taking ungraded honors tutorial would be allowed to carry only one graded full course instead of two under a resolution passed unanimously yesterday by the Harvard-Radcliffe Policy Committee.

The resolution, which will be submitted to the CEP at its next meeting, is intended to prevent "unfair discrimination" against seniors taking ungraded tutorials, according to Kenneth M. Kaufman '69, retiring chairman of the HPC.

'Under the present rule, students who need only three full courses for graduation can't take a pass-fail course if their tutorial is ungraded," Kaufman said.

A copy of the resolution will be sent to the Administrative Board, which can approve exceptions to the present rule. "I would hope that the Ad Board would be flexible about granting exceptions to the rule until the CEP can meet," Kaufman said.
