Freshmen Tracksters Wipe Out Exeter, 75-25

Sweeping both the mile and the shot put, the Freshman Track team handily defeated the Exeter Academy Track team at Exeter yesterday 75-25.

Jake Driscoll, who in his first meet set a new freshmen record in the shot put took first place yesterday. Gerry Hevern and John Roanowicz placed second and third respectively behind Driscoll.

In the distance events Bob Seales won both the mile and the 1000 with Mike Koerner taking first in the two mile. Koerner also placed second in the mile as Andy Meltzoff completed the mile sweep with a third. Third places in the two mile and 1000 were won by Phil Lichenstein and Dick Barton.

Harvard dominated the sprints, taking firsts in the 50 yd. dash and in the hurdles. Ed Diamond won the dash and Steve Thomas took the hurdles.

The meet's big surprise was 600 runner J. C. Dudley who ran a 1:12.1 for Exeter to take first in that event, setting a new Exeter record. His time shaved 1.1 seconds of the previous record which had been set by Harvard's Keith Colburn when he ran for Exeter.
