City Releases Report On 1968 Drug Raids

The drug scene kept Cambridge police busy during the past year, according to statistics contained in the City's annual report for 1968, released this week.

During the year, the Narcotics Unit seized 158 pounds, 11 ounces of marijuana, 2699 barbituate caps and tabs, 1848 amphetamines, 248 hypodermic needles, 219 syringes, and nine and one-half ounces of methamphetamine (speed).

The unit conducted a total of 565 narcotics investigations, and arrested 160 persons on 276 counts of violating the drug laws.
