Viola Fines Berg $20 On Complaint of Dean

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Judge Edward M. Viola yesterday found John Berg, a former graduate student, guilty of trespassing in University Hall September 26, and ordered him to pay a $20 fine.

Dean Watson testified that Berg, who was separated from the University last June for his role in the occupation of University Hall, had come onto Harvard property after receiving warning from the Committee of Fifteen not to do so.

Berg handled his own defense in Cambridge's Third District Court, and decided to pay the fine rather than appeal the case to Superior Court.
