Derek C. Bok. Dean of the Law School, has named four Harvard law professors to distinguished chairs.
Albert M. Sacks will be the new Dane Professor of Law, succeeding the late Henry M. Hart Jr. '26.
Richard H. Field '26 will occupy the Story Professorship, held by W. Barton Leach '21 until his retirement last June.
Ernest J. Brown has been named to the Langdell Professorship, vacated by former Law School Dean Erwin N. Griswold. Griswold is now Solicitor General of the United States.
James H. Chadbourn will succeed David F. Cavers, who retired last June as Fessenden Professor. Field, Sachs, and Brown are all graduates of the Harvard Law School. Chadbourn received his J. D. degree from the University of North Carolina.
Brown is on leave from the Law School for the current academic year, and Chadbourn will be on leave in the spring to work on a new book.
