NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Kirkland gridiron machine dumped Leverett, 6-0, yesterday to take an undisputed first place in the intramural house tackle football standings. as three other matches were slogged out in the cold rain as well.

Quarterback Peter Bernhardt's touchdown sparked the Kirkland dynamo, which shut out its second consecutive foe of the season. Skip Vacarello of Leverett paced several exciting drives, but never managed to cross the goal line.

Eliot Over Dunster

In a lopsided match. Eliot blew over Dunster, inflicting a 27-point shut-out upon its victim. Quarterback Bill Chery of Eliot scored first in a quick touchdown drive. Two interceptions by defensive standout Bill Darling set up later scores, for which Art Sorento was largely responsible.

Winthrop Downs Adams

Winthrop quarterback Tim Cullen swept around the left end for a second period touchdown and a 6-0 victory over Adams.

Quincy sloshed in the mud with Lowell in the final contest, yet the cold rain prevented either side from ever reaching payday.

Quincy's new quarterback. Glenn Gessay, engineered a potent offense, chalking up many more first downs than his Lowell counterpart Ray Stitch. but the stolid Lowell defense constantly kept Quincy from scoring the tie-breaking touchdown. Despite the weather. Lowell's Cliflie cheerleaders Pam Wilkinson and Ann Yelland yelled on, accounting for Lowell's improvement over last week.

Touch Football

In touch football contests. Eliot beat Adams, 19-12 and Lowell forfeited its match to Winthrop.
