Leverett Hours Upped by SCR

Leverett House has been living under the new, extended parietal system since last Thursday.

The Leverett House Senior Common Room last Wednesday calmly and unanimously voted to institute the new parietal regulations approved by the Faculty the day before.

As far as is known, no other Harvard houses have taken similar action on parietal restrictions.

The new hours (2 p.m. to midnight weekdays, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to midnight Sundays) will go into effect for the rest of the Houses next Fall.

When the proposal was introduced in the Leverett House SCR, one member said, no one had any objections--and so it passed. "Everyone was feeling generous and exhausted by this time of year," he explained.

No-One Knows

Notice of the decision was posted in most of the entries, but many still don't know of it, the night-watchman said. "Those that do seem very happy," he added.

"It doesn't make much difference," one senior commented, "except everyone keeps his pants on until twelve o'clock."

Two Weeks

The Leverett House SCR, like the Faculty, avoided mention of stricter enforcement of the new regulations than of the old. But the extended hours will have been in effect for less than two weeks when the close of the term ends all parietals until the Fall.
