To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

In reply to the article on Thursday, April 25, about financial aid at Radcliffe, I would like to make clear our policy.

Radcliffe does not base the admission or rejection of applicants on financial criteria. In fact, financial aid decisions are made after the Committee on Admissions has finished its deliberations, a fact which your article acknowledged.

Therefore, any decerase in the number of applicants offered financial aid for the fall of 1968 could not be due to any conscious attempt to limit the number of aid candidates who would then be offered larger stipends. Nancy J. McIntire   Director of Financial Aid
