Eight Harvard students had the opportunity last night to express their opinions on Harvard students in Eastern Europe.
The eight--all representatives from campus organizations--participated in a taped interview conducted by Nicholas Pentcheff, Chief of the Bulgarian Desk of Radio Free Europe, in the Eliot JCR.
The students discussed American foreign policy, the Communist world, and Harvard, concentrating on the lack of courses on race relations.
"Harvard is no different from the larger American society," Harlan Dalton '69 said. "Assumptions like 'one shouldn't make decisions on the basis of race' go unchallenged."
Pentcheff said that student activists in Eastern European countries are greatly influenced by American student activism. He said that they occasionally use slogans borrowed from American student movements.
