Paul Newman Named Pudding 'Man of Year'

Actor Paul Newman was named "Man of the Year" by Hasty Pudding Theatricals yesterday afternoon. He receives this honor for his "outstanding achievement in the world of entertainment."

Newman, nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in the movie Cool Hand Luke, is the second to receive the award. Comedian Bob Hope was honored last year when the award made its debut.

The 43-year-old star is scheduled to receive the award at a ceremony on the steps of the Pudding Clubhouse prior to the opening of this year's show on Tuesday night.
