Winthrop garnered a total of 32 points, twice that of second place Quincy House. Leverett finished third with 13 points, Dudley fourth at 10, and Lowell fifth at six points.

The most exciting match was in the freshman 177 lb, class where Jim Dunn and Hal Clark from Pennypacker fought each other to a 9-9 tie and three minute overtime. Dunn decisioned his opponent in the overtime.

Pennypacker won the freshman National League team championship and Grays took the American League.

Winthrop House walked off with four first places and four second places in the finals of the House Wrestling Tournament to capture the team title.

Barry Finer started the Winthrop success with a 3:59 pin of Bill Diercks (Quincy) in the 130 lb. weight class. Following right after, Bill Wasserstrom and Walter Horak, both from Winthrop, decisioned their men in the 137 and 145 divisions respectively.

The fastest pin of the afternoon came when John Kiernan (Winthrop) put Vern Horn, also of Winthrop, on his back in 57 seconds flat.
