Harvard squash captain Anil Nayar '69 successfully defended his title as Canadian National Champion by winning the A-league competition in an invitational tournament in Montreal last weekend.

Nayar won five matches to remain the champion, as he beat Sam Howe in five games in the final round. To reach the finals Nayar had to set back Harvard's Larry Terrell in the semifinals.

Five other Crimson players participated in the tournament, but all were in the less competitive B-league. None got beyond the second round. Fernando Gonzalez was eliminated in his first match, while Jaime Gonzalez, Peter Ahrams, Michelle Scheiman, and Bruce Weigand lost in round two.

Three players from Williams were the only other college students in the tournament, which included most of the best squash players in North America.
