Freshmen Gridders Smother Tigers' Offense, 7-0; Booters' 5-0 Win Extends Unbeaten Streak to 18

Looking sharp after two dismal losses, the Harvard freshman football team marched 95 yards in the second period for the only score of the game and defeated Princeton 7-0 on Saturday.

Princeton's single wing attack threatened five times in the first half, but the Yardling defense responded with two fumble recoveries, a Tim Bilodeau interception, and two goal-line stands to hold the Tigers scoreless in the first half.

The Crimson drove 95 yards in 15 plays for their second period score. Quarterback George Crace, the third starting quarterback in four games, moved the team to midfield in 11 plays and then tossed a pass to halfback Dave Ignacio at the Princeton 15 yard line.

Two plays later halfback Steve Harrison swept right end, broke four tackles, and raced over the goal line for the score. Ned French added the extra point.

The Crimson defensive unit smothered Princeton's offense in the second half, allowing the Tigers only 17 yards total offense.

Nor could Harvard's impotent offense mount another scoring drive as the scoreless second half gave the Freshmen a narrow victory.
