The first major injury of the season occured in House tackle football action as Kirkland's Dave Shahian '69 suffered a ruptured kidney in a game against Adams on Tuesday, October 22.

Shahian spent a week at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, and was moved to Stillman Infirmary Tuesday. Doctors said he will remain there for about one more week. The injury occured as Shahian was making a cross-body block. Doctors were forced to remove the damaged kidney.

Injuries have been on the rise in House football this year. Three players have had concussions, and Monday night two others suffered separated shoulders.
