Don Schollander of Yale and Ross Wales of Princeton last night swam their way to victory and two medals as the United States continued to lead in the Olympic competition.

Schollander anchored the 800-meter freestyle relay team in a come-from-be-hind triumph over Australia for the gold medal. This will be the only Mexico City appearance for Schollander, who won four gold medals at Tokyo in 1964.

Wales won a bronze medal, completing an American sweep of the 100-meter butterfly.
