Vernaglia Is Removed From the Critical List

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital have removed Paul A. Vernaglia Jr. '70 from the hospital's danger list and now report his condition as "fair".

After an exhaustive battery of tests in the last two weeks, doctors so far have found "no evidence of hemmorhage or permanent damage to the brain" as a result of the head injuries Vernaglia suffered in a January 14 gang beating in front of Kirkland House.

Wednesday in Third District Court the trial of the four men police accuse of the beating was continued until Feb. 29 on a defense motion. Police in Massachusetts and Connecticut are still looking for a fifth man they claim was involved.
