NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Rudolph Arnheim, a noted visual psychologist, will become professor of the Psychology of Art next Fall.

Presently a teacher at Sarah Lawrence, Arnheim taught at the Carpenter Center in 1964 and again in 1966.

University officials have said that Arnheim's appointment will significantly strengthen Harvard's Visual Studies program. In his work and in his teaching Arnheim has combined the study of psychology and the arts in a manner that is unique among American psychologists.

Several of Arnheim's books are well known, including Art and Visual Perception, and Films as Art.
