Boston Bows, 7-4 Drops to Fourth

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A late Boston surge recovered their four-run deficit, but it wasn't good enough to carry the Red Sox through a hairy 10th inning, in which careless pitching and a double error cost them the game, 7-4.

The loss, besides hurting, dropped the Sox to fourth place and 3 1/2 games out of the lead. Minnesota and Chicago, the top clubs, were idle yesterday.
