Harry S Truman Seen Traveling Towards Boston

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

ENROUTE WITH THE EX-PRESIDENTIAL PARTY, June 10 -- Ex-President Harry S Truman with a retinue of 50, departed today for the East on his private seven-car train, the "Hellbound."

Ostensibly, Truman is traveling to Expo '67, but a highly placed source in the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad, revealed last night that Truman's train had been routed as an "A1 High Priority Express, scheduled to arrive in Boston, Mass. on Wednesday, June 14."

The 81-year-old ex-haberdasher has been miffed because he has never received an honorary degree from Harvard, despite published reports for the last 20 years that conferral of a degree upon him was imminent. Unimpeachable sources have said that even if the University does not grant him a degree this year, there is a chance that Truman will show up at Commencement anyway.

Officials at Boston's elegant Ritz-Carleton Hotel would not confirm or deny reports that it is Truman who has reserved the entire 13th floor of the hotel for the latter part of this week.
