A small group of SDS members plans to stand outside the Office of Graduate and Career Plans from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today in protest against Dow Chemical Corp., a napalm manufacturer, whose recruiters will be interviewing students inside.
Barbara T. Flynn '68, organizer of the protest, and Laurence E. Fogarty '69, SDS co-chairman, also intend to seek interviews with the Dow representatives. Other SDS members may do the same thing, Miss Flynn said.
Not Disruptive
She said she had planned neither the vigil nor the interviews to be disruptive or obstructionist. "We simply want to remind people that this company is the government's principal supplier of napalm.
The demonstrators will hand out leaflets, but there will be no pickets, Miss Flynn said. They plan to stand on the porch of the Office, at 54 Dunster St., and will not block the sidewalk.
Discretion on Sales?
Fogarty said that if they succeed in meeting with the representatives they will ask why companies should not exercise some discretion over what they sell.
An SDS attempt to picket Dow last week at Wisconsin University turned into a major incident resulting in 17 arrests.
