HDC Puts Off Final Decision On Reform Plan

After wrangling for an hour and a half over a procedural motion, Harvard Dramatic Club members were unable to reach a decision on proposals to change the way the club elects its executive board.

The club also decided at yesterday's meeting to submit five of the six proposals drafted by James L. Shuman '68 to a general membership vote by mail.

Shuman's suggested amendments are designed to strengthen the link between the five-man executive committee and the rest of the HDC members. Several members called them innocuous yesterday, and they quickly voted to mail ballots.

But other decisions came only after protracted discussion. For the third time in a row, an HDC meeting began without a quorum of members present, so voting on the constitutional amendments was stymied until enough members arrived to make a quorum.
