Fred Bassi fired two goals Friday night, leading Boston University to a 4-2 victory over Michigan State in the NCAA semifinals. Jim Quinn and Darrell Abbott scored B.U.'s other two goals.

With that victory behind them, B.U. will play Cornell tonight in the first all Eastern final in 18 years. Michigan's defeat ended a 13-year reign by Western teams in the NCAA tourney.

Goalie Wayne Ryun had 27 saves for B.U., while Gaye Colley of Michigan State made 33 stops.
