The Harvard Gilbert and Sullivan Players will appear at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Winterfest with Martyn Green, "the greatest living G. and S. performer," HGSP president Stephen A. Michaels '68 said last night.
"It's about the same thing as if the Harvard Dramatic Club were invited to do 'Hamlet' with Olivier," Nina Kleinberg '68, HGSP secretary-treasurer, said last night.
Thirty of the Harvard players will perform at War Memorial Auditorium with Green, who sang for twenty-five years with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company and toured the United States with his own company of Gilbert and Sullivan performers.
The Harvard group will sing a medley of Gilbert and Sullivan songs and will be the chorus for the one-act musical, "Trial by Jury."
