A varsity soccer game rated a toss-up will highlight the year's biggest athletic card when Harvard visits Yale en masse Friday.
The hustling Eli booters of Hubert Vogelsinger claim a narrow 2-1 loss to Brown and a scoreless tie with Penn, the two Ivy teams that have beaten Harvard. The Ivy champion Bruins needed a second-period penalty kick to edge the Yalies.
Son of Hank
Sophomore goalie Steve Greenberg, son of baseball Hall-of-Famer Hank and brother of Yale defensive tackle Glenn, has been the Bulldog's star, shutting out Columbia, 1-0, as well as Penn.
Brown won the title by virtue of its win over Harvard, and upsets by Columbia over Penn and Dartmouth over Cornell last Saturday.
The junior varsity contests are the only two that are not scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. The football "B" teams will meet at 1:30 p.m. on the varsity practice field, while the Crimson's undefeated soccer subs start the day's competition at 1 p.m.
Two Fine Backs
The Bullpups will throw two fine running backs, Bob Kropke and Bernie Sowley, at the Yardlings in the featured football offering, at DeWitt Cuyler Field.
Also scheduled are the intercollege championships, with the Leverett football, Quincy soccer, and Winthrop touch football teams facing their Yale counter-parts. There will be other House competitions among various also-rans, also at 2 p.m.
