East House Breaks Record in Marathon

Thirty-four East House girls swam a record 3049 laps to take the annual Fall Marathon at the Radcliffe pool last week.

South House, which led the field for the first three days of the five-day contest, fell behind on Thursday and finished with 2595 laps.

North House trailed with 2337 laps.

Junior Anne Aylward of South House swam 100 laps every day, the maximum allowed, for the individual high of 500.

The 93 Cliffies who participated in the event swam a total of over 90 miles.
