Natalie Wood Will Come to Harvard For 'Poon's Worst Actress Award

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Natalie Wood won't accept the Lampoon's worst actress of the year award with the customary embarrassed silence. She has demanded an invitation to Cambridge so she can receive the honor in person.

What could the Lampoon say but yes? They haven't set the date with Natalie or worked out details of the magnificent presentation ceremony she expects. One 'Poon board member promised "a lot of hoopla" and said the presentation would probably coincide with the House Arts festivals late this month.

The Lampoon has given Natalie the worst actress prize "for this year, next year, and the following year" thereby retiring the award, which now will bear Miss Wood's name when it is given to other actresses.

Alan R. Lomberg '66 decided that Natalie merited the special award in a moment of personal fury "after I heard she had won the Golden Apple or Golden Globe award for being the most popular actress in the world." His voice ringing with pride, he said, "she typifies the worst in Hollywood glamor and non-acting and that should not go unrecognized."

Miss Wood has indicated she wants the same lavish treatment from the Lampoon editors that Ethel Merman received from the Hasty Pudding when she picked up the 1966 Woman of the Year Award. Her press agent has already called the Lampoon three times to make sure the festivities get planned
