Harvard's hockey team will try to avenge a December loss to Yale when they journey to New Haven tomorrow. The Crimson sextet fell from the glory of an overtime win over Cornell last Saturday to a sluggish loss to Brown, and they will be meeting a losing squad which is picking up late in the season.
The Elis are 7-11-1 overall and 2-5 in Ivy League play. They battled mighty St. Lawrence to a 3-3 overtime tie this week, making up a two-goal deficit. At the Nichols Tournament in December, they plastered Dartmouth 10-3 and pinched Harvard 3-2 to win the title.
The home team will be dominated by juniors, including all six starters. Jack Morrison centers for the first line, and he leads Yale in goals, assists and scoring. Morrison has accumulated 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points in 19 games. His left wing, Jack Walsh, has 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points.
Morrison and Walsh have done an unusually large portion of Yale scoring am-assing more points between them than any five other skaters. Morrison was an All-Ivy honorable mention last year. Warren Gelman, with six goals and eight assists, plays right wing on that line.
Ted Carey and Dwight Miller will be starting on defense for the Elis. They have identical records of two goals and seven assists.
Zef Fessenden will be in the nets blocking Harvard shots (or letting them go by). The junior goalie has played in 15 games, giving up 66 scores and stopping 484 other efforts.
Robbie Keith (six goals), Wint Richie (six goals), and Pete Merkel (four goals) make up Yale's second line. Barry Alladice, a sophomore on the third line, introduced himself to New Haven hockey fans by getting the knotting goal with 12 minutes remaining against St. Lawrence.
Harvard might be ready to explode for a big scoring night, after suffering total frustration against Brown's sharp defense.
