Lunch Quota Set Union, Dudley

Lunchtime interhouse quotas have been established for upperclassmen dining in the Freshman Union and Dudley House.

One hundered upperclassmen will be served lunch in the Union on a daily "first-come, first-served" basis, according to F. Skiddy von Stade Jr. '38, Dean of Freshman. They will be admitted from 11:45 a.m., the Union's regular opening time.

The Union averages 90 upperclassmen daily during the last reading period it reached a peak of 140, von Stade said.

An additional 150 students will be allowed Dudley interhouse privileges, 75 starting at both noon and 1 p.m., Thomas E. Crooks '49, Master of Dudley House, said yesterday. There will, however, be no limits on interhouse between 11 a.m. and noon at Dudley, he said.

The Masters have voiced no objections to the new Union quotas, von Stade said.

Crooks indicated that both the old and new Union restrictions had forced the new quotas in Dudley House. "The lines are too long," he said, "But our system of quotas and the Union system should make everybody happy," he said.
