Crimeds Plaster Yale News, 23-2

Twelve good men and true from the Harvard. CRIMSON's utterly undefeated touch football staff unleashed their frenzied talents on the hapless Yale Daily News Saturday morn and wallopped the unfortunates, 23-2.

It was the Crimed's 93rd straight victory since the ancient rivalry began. The Yalies have been outscored 2139 to 186.

The match Saturday was no easy one, even for the stout lads from the Plympt. Yale bounced into an early 2-0 lead when CRIMSON kicking specialist Steve Kruskall blocked his own punt out of the end zone to register a safety.

Where Was Berrio?

Playing without the services of center Joe Berrio, who was at a Republican rally, the CRIMSON found it hard to provide adequate protection for quarterback Dave Nevins. But Nevins, rolling out of the pocket on numerous occasions, was able to complete 23 of 25 passes for two touchdowns.

Nevins' Pitchout

The final Harvard tally came on a pitchout from Nevins to halfback Linda McVeigh. McVeigh scooted around left end behind crisp blocking of CRIMSON stalwarts.

At a tea following the contest, former varsity coach Rhesus J. Portfolio commented, "This is the best Harvard team I've seen in 31 years. And that day I think I was drunk."
