DOJ Sues Boston and Mayor Michelle Wu ’07 Over Sanctuary City Policy
Two of the four Boston policemen accused by Joseph O. Proctor Jr. '67 of brutality and untruthfulness were found guilty today by a Police Trial Review Board.
The two patrolmen convicted were John F. Bilodeau, who will serve 200 hours punishment duty, and Rowland W. Bird Jr. who will serve 100 hours extra duty.
Cleared of charges was William D. McGuiness, accused of untruthfulness and failure to comply with a regulation requiring an officer to ride with his prisoner in the police wagon. Also vindicated was Richard Higgins, charged with untruthfulness.
Proctor said of the outcome that under the circumstances, unnecessary roughness and discourtesy were the only indisputable violations. When asked whether he planned to press the case any further, Proctor said that getting a jury trial was next to impossible, and that he would let the case lie.
