Holy Cross Romped In 1962 Game, 34-20

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Holy Cross and Harvard last met in 1962, and it is just as well the Crimson has had three years to recover from that game. With one of their greatest backfields in history, the Crusaders stomped Harvard, 34 to 20, as quarterback Pat McCarthy personally accounted for 187 yards.

The win was Holy Cross' third in the last four meetings of the two schools, but Harvard still holds a considerable edge in the series which dates back to 1904. Crimson teams have won 18 times, lost nine, with one tie. Harvard's last win was a 13-6 triumph in 1960.

If today's game is a low-scoring Harvard victory, it will be a marked reversal of form from previous years. The average score during the last six games has been Holy Cross 20, Harvard 15.
