Harvard's tennis team downed Dartmouth 8-1 yesteday, but not without sweating through a couple of tense matches.

Top Crimson player Chum Steele played some fantastic tennis to rally over sharp-serving Charlie Hoevier, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Dave Benjamin (two) withstood four match points to take the third set 7-5 over Dartmouth's Bill Kirkpatrick. Richie Friedman (five) won the day's honors with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jerry Dericks. Harvard's lone loss came in the number one doubles.
