Harvard's golf team defeated M.I.T. yesterday, 5 to 2, in its final tune-up for Wednesday's big match against Yale.
Brian McGuinn, Jim Buchanan, Charles Hawkins, Steve Bergman and Peter Tague all won their matches for the Crimson. McGuinn, at number two, fired a one-over par 72, the best Harvard score on the short Oskley Country Club courses.
Tague and Mike Millis both shot 73's but Millis was defeated one-up when his Teach opponent birdied the last two holes.
