NO ANALOGY INTENDED

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

To set the record straight, I must point out that the title of the Ripon Society's forthcoming book will not be "The Rape of the Republican Party," as reported in last Monday's CRIMSON.

That editor Thomas E. Petri was badly misquoted is beside the point now; as with the book, we would rather dismiss past problems and concentrate on looking ahead. Our purpose is to help the GOP build itself into a relevant political force for the future.

It is certainly neither our purpose nor our desire to compare our Party's situation with that of Ruben's "Europa" or the Sabine women of old. Christopher T. Bayley   Vice President   The Ripon Society
