Rights Teach-In Set For Tonight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Three civil rights organizations will sponsor a teach-in on the theme "Bussing Is Not the Issue," at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Paulist Center at 5 Park St. in Boston, the Rev. Richard E. Mumma, Presbyterian member of the United Ministry at Harvard and Radcliffe, announced last night.

Mumma said the teach-in was in response to criticisms that Mrs. Louise Day Hicks, member of the Boston School Committee, recently directed at the Kiernan Report on racial imbalance in Massachusetts schools. Mrs. Hicks objected strongly to bussing proposals in the report.

The teach-in will feature speeches by Arthur J. Gartland '36 and Thomas S. Elsenstadt, both members of the school committee, and Laurence H. Fuchs, professor of American Civilization at Brandeis. Mumma will serve as moderator.
