Heavies To Get Berth at Henley

Harvard's heavyweight crew will get a chance to prove this summer what the experts have been saying all spring: that the Crimson eight is the best in the world.

The Friends of Harvard Rowing last night assured Harvard's oarsmen that they would be able to compete in the Henley Regatta in England. Their offer of financial support for the trip still needs official University approval, but that is a certainty.

Harvard's last win at Henley came in 1959. Last year, while the Crimson eight was making its unsuccessful bid for a trip to the Tokyo Olympics, a Russian-Lithuanian crew won at Henley in record-shattering time.
