The Yale golf team, playing on its home course, bulled its way past favored Navy and Penn State to take the Eastern Intercollegiate Golf championships with a 768-stroke total Saturday in New Haven. Harvard finished seventh with a score of 810.

Jim Buchanan led the Crimson golfers for the 34-hole round with 77.74--151. Captain Dimple Campen shot 33.77--100 and Brain McGuinn followed with 34.78--162. None of their other teammates broke 80.
