Netmen Favored Over Lord Jeffs

Dave Benjamin is suffering from a back ailment, Clive Kileff is hobbled by a weak ankle, Dick Appleby has a cold, and Mike Tarre has a foot injury, but the Harvard tennis team will probably blank Amherst today anyway.

Last year against Amherst Harvard's top three players gave up a total of three games, and the rest of the team won almost as easily. This year Amherst, recently back from a southern tour, may be a little stronger, but probably not enough to make much difference.

Benjamin, who has missed the last three matches because of his back, may be able to play today. What really matters, though, is whether or not he will be at full strength Friday when the Crimson must face powerful Penn in Philadelphia. Kileff and Tarre will be in the lineup to today despite their injuries.

Harvard's freshman team hosts Amherst here this afternoon. Coach Corey Wynn's team trounced M.I.T., 9-0, Thursday in their opening match and should have little trouble handling Amherst.

In the last four years, Wynn's teams have lost only one match.
